Your vision is personal to you. And we make vision care our own personal mission!

Every patient is different. That’s why we take the time to understand your needs so we can help you with vision correction that works best for you. Some patients are happy with traditional glasses to correct their vision. Other patients prefer the convenience of contact lenses.

Dr. William Fruchtman O.D. provides patients with clear, comfortable vision solutions for your specific daily tasks. He will look at your needs based on your age, lifestyle, and occupation to help you make the best choice for your vision care.

How Do Contact Lenses Work?
Contact lenses are smaller prescription lenses (instead of larger glass lenses) that come in “contact” with the eye. They are designed to correct refractive errors and maintain ocular health.

Contact lenses work well to correct the following visual problems:

  • Myopia
  • Hyperopia
  • Astigmatism
  • Presbyopia
  • Nearsightedness
  • Farsightedness
Contact lenses essentially act as your eye, and their placement results in clear vision. Contact lenses rest on the surface of your cornea, the clear outer surface of your eye.

With some small adjustments, contact lenses are very comfortable to wear for most patients. It may take a little getting used to, but we find that most patients adjust quickly within only a few days of wearing them.

Your eye provides natural lubrication for your contact lenses. As you blink, your eyelids glide over the surface of the contact lenses and cause them to move slightly, which provides gentle lubrication during wear.
