I was told by the receptionist that I only have to pay $25 out of pocket by just changing my lenses and using my existing frame but I wind up paying $269.10 and I had to order a totally new glasses even though my frame is perfect and could be reused. I was charged$ 9.10 for credit card use fee which I was not ready for. I am not happy about these surprises.

I was lucky to get an appointment regarding my left eye. He thoroughly examined the eye, my vision and asked if the pimple was bothering me. I said yes and he immediately and carefully lanced the pimple and treated the area. He then gave me a prescription for antibiotic drops. Dr Fruchtman is a great choice for a first time visit. He’s patient and meticulous with refraction tests, Optomology cataract analysis and macular degeneration battery of tests. I got a chance to try out the progressive 1-day multi focal Acuvue, Oasys max as well, which although expensive were a great choice to try out. Until we can sound the all-clear, this doctor cares! Highly recommended.

My daughter had a fear of the eye doctor even after she was told this was one of the best exams she would receive. I explained my concerns and they used pictures to help her identify her vison. Dr. Fruchtman was great and made the experience for her a lasting one. The receptionist remembered the conversation from when we setup the appointment and was able to accommodate my daughter. She engaged her and set her nerves at ease. Also, told my daughter they were going shopping and it was a blast despite my daughters short attention span. They explained everything clearly from how to get to the location to the process and procedures. Overall 5 star treatment

This office is awesome – I called on a Monday to make an appointment I’ve been putting off for over 10 years, and was in the office on Wednesday. Since they take Horizon NJ and are down the street from me, the convenience was much appreciated – and the way that I was in the exam seat AT the time of my appointment and out 12 minutes later was amazing. Being able to fill out the forms online made it so that I didn’t have to spend extra time in a doctor’s office during a pandemic and didnt have to cramp my hand filling out forms. My temperature was taken and I was given a squirt of hand sanitizer before entering. My only disappointment is that I don’t need glasses – so the only well run doctor’s office I’ve been to in years isn’t one I have to frequent! Definitely go here.

Superb Care! I’ve been going to Dr. Fruchtman for over 20 years and wouldn’t consider going to anyone else, even though there are plenty of good optometrists a lot closer to me. I can’t say I’d travel to the ends of the earth for an appointment with Dr. F., but pretty close! He is professional, thorough, and caring. Good eyesight is critical to me and I have some unique needs which Dr. F. has addressed beautifully. He’s not there just to do a quick exam and sell expensive glasses. He makes me feel that my complete visual wellbeing is his top priority. I can’t say more good stuff about the practice, but I can say one thing to you: Just GO!

I struggle with eye dryness and astigmatism, and have tried wearing contact lenses on and off with no luck. Finally, he suggested a creative solution, which no other eye doctor have in the past and it worked! I couldn’t be more grateful.

Due to an ongoing eye infection, I reached out to Dr. Fruchtman who was referred to me by a friend who is also a patient. Even though I was not an established patient, I was seen by him that same day. He reviewed my current medication prescribed by an urgent care facility and supplemented my care with an oral antibiotic. He thoroughly examined the condition of my eye, explained the current status, and also provided home remedies for me to follow after the visit. I will receive a follow-up visit in a week. The care I was given by Dr. Fruchtman was so very much appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Fruchtman to anyone looking for a compassionate, skilled professional.

Our insurance company referred us and also Dr Fruchtman is a working partner of my surgeon Dr. Phillips who did cataract surgery on me. It’s very rare for someone to say they love their optometrist but let me be the first to say, I DO! By improperly caring for my contacts, I walked myself into a eye infection in both eyes. My eyes literally felt like they were on fire and no amount of visine or cold rags were helping. With my luck, all this started after hours for every Optometrist I contacted. Dr. Fruchtmans site allowed you to request appointments online and in the comment section, I expressed how bad I was feeling and didn’t know what else to do. It was pretty late and I didn’t expect any call back until the next day. But no, Dr. Fruchtman called that night and guided me with the instructions to care for my eyes until I could be seen! This might not be a big deal for some, but when your in pain to the point of tears, a doctor you’ve never met takes the time to call AND help, your forever grateful. He went about and beyond what most doctors do. Even visiting his office was a great experience! This guy is lively and entertaining and takes the time to explain everything down to the insurance. You don’t feel rushed. You don’t feel awkward. You just feel like a buddy is checking out your eyes. His care was amazing and I received my contacts the next day! Dr. Fruchtman, thank you for your help!!

We’d visited 2 days in a row; the first was an appointment just set up for my son and there was an issue with insurance so we had to reschedule. We really liked the dr that day he seemed very nice and great with the kids. After we decided to cancel our (adult) visits we had scheduled with another office and we’d all go see him. The next day we went back, got there 25 minutes early because I knew there’d be paperwork and the dr seemed off. I don’t know if something happened or he was annoyed with us for something but we were rushed through the entire visit, moved in and out of 3 different rooms; from an office to the waiting room to another room so that he could bring another patient in. He was also very short with our kids.

I’ve been going to Dr. Fruchtman for many years. It’s always been a pleasant experience. He’s knowledgeable, personable, makes you feel comfortable and never tries to sell you something that isn’t necessary. Since this was my first visit I will not comment on any changes. One thing you might want to consider is getting someone rather then the receptionist to fit your patients for glasses. She seems to have her hands full doing just what she does.

I enjoyed this visit. Dr. Fruchtman was amazing with my 7 year old son. He was upbeat, funny and very personable. My son is on the autism spectrum and has adhd and he knew exactly how to handle him. I will definitely refer my family and friends to him and I will definitely be seeing him again for my son’s needs. The best part about this whole experience was even when I called for an appointment on a Tuesday, he gave me an appointment for 2 days later. I didn’t have to wait weeks to get squeezed in. And he may seem busy but he is a great multitasker and the appointment didn’t take long at all. I wish every doctor would be like this.

I didn’t receive a cleaning cloth for my glasses which should be given to each person receiving glasses. I have Wellcare, they only had 4 glasses to choose from. I felt forced to get a pair I didn’t really want. More options would be nice. I also felt rushed to look at the glasses, try them on, & pick one. The Dr, however was friendly. There was a five min wait time which was wonderful & when I picked up my glasses, I was assisted immediately.

I really don’t see any point if improvement at this time. I found the visit to be perfect. No wait time, (and I had my two children with me 8 & 9 yrs old that were also viewed by the doctor. His performance and understanding with my children was wonderful. He answered their questions as silly as they may have been and even laughed with them. Hi, I was a little confused by being told the next time I have an appt. I would have to pay for an office visit or be sent to another office. I know this insurance is not a good one but its all I have at the moment. I do not have the money for that (hence the kind of insurance I have) and I do not drive so going to an office in another town is not an option for me. I also felt rushed to choose an eyeglass frame, your assistant did not want to leave me alone even to greet the next person who came in. So if I have to pay for future services I will just get my new glasses when they are ready and look for another eye doctor…unless I misunderstood you. Thank you, Anna Scala
